Can data entered while the phone is offline be saved locally?

Hovhannes Vktarget

When collecting data in the field, the network connection is often unstable, yet I need to use my phone to fill in records and upload photos. If the connection drops halfway through, will Busabase retain the information I’ve already entered? Is it possible to temporarily save data offline and submit it once the connection is restored, while also clearly indicating which photos failed to upload?

Busabase does not currently save unsent record changes and photos in an offline queue for automatic upload after reconnection. In the mobile app, values stay in the open form while that screen remains open, and a failed upload can show an error in the current attachment field. Neither is a durable offline draft or a list of photos waiting to retry. Do not count on unsent fields being recovered after the app closes or restarts.

For field work, keep the original photos in your phone’s library. Once connected again, check whether the record or change request was saved and which attachments arrived before submitting or uploading again, so you do not create duplicates.

Offline drafts, a visible pending/failed-photo list, and reliable retry are the capabilities this workflow needs. We have recorded the request, but have not committed a design or date. Are you entering data in the Busabase mobile app, a shared form, or a custom AirApp? The behavior of an open screen may differ.
