When importing from Excel, can I match customers by email and fill in only the empty fields?

Thanks for spelling out the matching rule. The current spreadsheet paste/import in Busabase creates new records; it does not have a built-in “match by email, then fill blanks only” option. Using it directly for this file could create duplicate customers.

For now, give a connected agent the spreadsheet and access to the customer Base. Ask it to normalize email addresses, list duplicate or unmatched rows separately, and propose updates only where the existing field is empty. Review a small sample and the before/after differences before merging the full set; keep existing nonempty values unchanged. We have recorded the import option you described, but have not committed a design or date. Which fields would you want to fill, and what should happen when one email matches more than one customer?
