Can long single-select option names be shown in full?

Wenke Li

Some categories need a region, channel, and campaign batch in the name. Options like “East China channel partnership | Q4 2026 | Initial draft” and “East China channel partnership | Q4 2026 | Awaiting client confirmation” only differ at the end.

If the dropdown shows the same shortened prefix for both, it's easy to pick the wrong one. Could options wrap onto multiple lines, or let you tap to read the full name on mobile? Is there already a display setting for this? It would avoid shortening the actual category names just to fit the UI.

Thanks for giving the two labels whose distinguishing words are at the end. In Busabase, a narrow table cell may truncate a long single-select value. The record editor uses the original full option text, but there is not yet a consistent setting that wraps long dropdown options or lets someone open a full-label preview on desktop and mobile.

For now, check the full choice in the record editor before saving; where possible, put the distinguishing words earlier in the label so two options do not share the same visible prefix. That is a workaround, not a reason to discard your real category names. We have recorded wrapping and full-label inspection across mouse, keyboard, and touch; no design or release date is committed. The related Chinese request is tracking the same issue. Is the truncation most costly in the table, the record editor, or the mobile form?
