User story
As a user editing a table view in a Base, I want to quickly change the display order of fields. For example, I may want to move the “Updated date” field to the second position.
Current problem
Currently, fields can only be moved one position at a time by repeatedly clicking the up-arrow button. When a view contains more than a dozen fields, moving the last field to the second position requires many clicks and is inefficient.
Proposed improvement
Please support drag-and-drop field reordering:
- Add a drag handle next to each field
- Allow users to drag a field directly to the desired position
- Show a clear placement indicator while dragging
This would significantly reduce the number of actions required to reorder fields and would follow a familiar interaction pattern used by many products.
